  About Music and Bio's

You know what they say what comes around goes around and it's got to start somewhere. My music is a mixture of the Alabama coast and the lower Keys with a touch of that Texas Rawness we love. I grew up and loved the sound singer/songwriter of the 70's. The music was simple, it was more about the song rather than the production. The lyrics had meaning and people could relate it to their own lives. But now the lyrics have gotten lost being the mass production of instrumentation I wanted to create the things that made you fall in love with this music. Instead of following in the footsteps, I want to recreate the ones that have been forgotten or washed away by the tide. Like the songs says "I like my music, I love my music, I like my music like I like my oysters....Raw!

I started playing way back in the 80's. I was in your typical high school garage R N R Band. We were called "Black Diamond" named after a Kiss song. After graduation I went to work for Sesac and got a first hand look on how tough the music business was, so I hung up the six string.

It was not until I married my wife that I picked up the guitar again. I was visiting her parents house and noticed her brother n law had a guitar in his room I picked it up and havent put it back down since.

I then met Eric Stone and he gave me a lot of advice on writing and playing and we ended up writing a song together that appeared on his cd "Permanent Vacation" the song is called "Beer Money". Theres a funny story behind the song I was driving home from work one evening and I noticed a homeless man standing at the red light holding a sign that read "Why lie I need Beer Money". I fell for it hook, line and sinkeryeah I gave him $5.00 and told him to have a drink on me.

Things started to get real serious after I met a Nashville Songwriter by the name of Mike Schultz. He and I began writing songs and before I knew it, I had enough great songs for a CD. I have tried recording the CD several ways. I first tried recording it myself which turned out to be a disaster. I also tried using a studio production company here in Nashville, but once again it turned into a disaster. The guys were great to work with but they really didnt get the whole Trop Rock Music concept. Finally I met Kevin Johnston, from the band Capt. Quint. He owns and operates "The Orca" a studio in Baltimore MD. He mentioned to me that he was going to start recording and producing other Trop Rock artist and would be happy to record and produce my project. I can honestly say it has been nothing, but a positive experience and he has taken my music to the next level.

My major influences are Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley and Jerry Jeff  Walker. Ive also been greatly influenced by other Trop Rock greats like Eric Stone, Sunny Jim, Capt Quint, Hugo Duarte, Gene Mitchell, Tall Paul and some guy that goes by T J Walsh. : )
