So what are they saying about "Life on the Gulf"? Well, here are some actual e-mail, notes, quotes from people who have purchased the cd.

I have had the CD for a couple of weeks, now.

It is fantastic!!!!!!
My son and I volunteered in New Orleans over spring break, so that even makes the CD more special!
Hope you make it to the Delaware Valley some time.

"I'm a little conched; I like it that way." Of course that's my fav.
Always love hearing a good waltz like Conched (and Nautical Wheelers.)
Super lyrics! If you do this one live, I'll bet it's fun to watch the dancers

Current Conditions is one of my faves. Nice song idea there.
Grouper and Beer is great and has the Pencil Thinesque swing to it.
Also makes me hungry. Yeah....I know....imagine that
Life on The Gulf makes me want to finally visit that part of the state.
Also inspires me to write about my favorite place, St Auggie.
Parrot Bay is a real nice tropical anthem. Ya gotta have one of those.
The Gonzo Gypsie really does sound like a Jerry Jeff song.
Also noticed three "kiss my ass" references..........hey everybody has their fetishes
Great cd mon!!!

I got my album this past friday...popped it in the cd as I was packing to drive home to spend time with my brother. The first song "Life on the Gulf"...had me dancing in my front room ( my neighbors think I'm a kook!) Anyway, I ended up bring the cd home and playing it for my brother ( my brother who is a music snob) really loved it. He said it made him "happy"...then he started getting into the technical stuff and talked about how great the guitar playing was...etc.....He loved the lyric and vocals as well...

All I can say is the music has inspired me to start taking the first steps toward my life near the ocean....I loved "me and my boat'.....

"Current Conditions" is beautiful and fitting for me right now....

Great job Jake.....from Sunseeker

Jake,

I have finally had a chance to listen to your album in its entirety. There wasn't a bad song on the album. However I had a real hard time taking The Gonzo Gypsy seriously when you said "choo choo" at the very end. You were referencing Guy Clark's masterpiece "Desperato's Waiting for the Train," arguably one of my all time favorite songs and by singing "choo choo," it just ruined the feel of the song for me. With all of that being said, I love the album*
and cannot wait to hear your follow-up to your CD.

(*Please don't ever sing "choo choo" at the end of a song again...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED from JBFINSCJ

Got back from Costa Rica a few days ago...been resting and catching back up. A totally different, WONDERFUL world down there...definately going to go back! And your music made a PERFECT soundtrack for when I was laying out on the Pacific coast with my Papaya, Guaro, and Rum drink (that my bartender named after me!) along with the smell of sun tan oil and the sound of monkeys playing in the trees just behind me! -Nina from Mypsace

Jake, you're on your way. My teenage daughter who will listen to Buffett but nothing else unless their wearing eyeliner and singing punk, actually said to me tonight when I skipped Life on the Gulf to hear Conched, "turn that back I like that song." Wow! Not that I don't like that song, but we had just heard it live minutes before. That's GOLD. Angela-Myspace

Hey Jake,
I got your CD and I love it... It's such a great cruising with the sunroof open type of CD... Thanks for sending it so promptly... Also, congrats on meeting JB... Hey, I did get to go to the concert afterall.. Can you believe it? The concert was sold out in 18 minutes in March, and yet the day before the concert there were tickets available from ticketmaster.com... Jeez, I must be living right... Anyway, it was my first concert and it was GREAT!!!
So, on that note, have a great weekend!!!

Shelly

You are now mixed into my CD player w/Jimmy Buffett and Capt. Sam Crutchfield! I'm going to tell all my friends about this CD; so don't be surprised if you get a ton of buyers out of the Pensacola area!
Oh! And you're album is also going with me on the boat when I go deep sea fishing in Quepos, Costa Rica next month!
So....when does your NEXT album come out??
